Pre-Install QuickBooks Desktop Questionnaire

1. Do NOT use a trial version of QuickBooks.  

2. The QBD Sync with PSA Web will require a dedicated QuickBooks license for an automatic sync.  For example:  if you have 3 licenses and 3 QBD users, you will need to get a 4th license for the QBD Sync.   A manual sync will not require a dedicated user license, but the user will have exit QBD to run the QBD Sync.  

3. It is not recommended to select a laptop to host and run the QBD Sync. Our best practice is that if you choose to host and run the QBD sync, the laptop should remain stationary in your office in an effort to not interrupt the sync.  

4. The QBD Sync cannot be installed if an Accountant's Copy is out.  Ensure no copy is out on the day of your scheduled QBD Sync installation. 

Out= Export to file that you can give to your Accountant. You are in lockdown for certain features while the file is “checked out”. It changes certain privileges while the copy is “out”.  

5. The "Right Networks" cloud solutions/server hosting will not allow for any unapproved software including the PSA QBD Sync to be installed. 

6. Our folder C:\ProgramData\QBPSA needs to be included in your daily backup. Do NOT alter this program data folder otherwise all information will require a new conversion. 

7. The QBD Sync cannot be installed on a Mac.   

8. Once the QBD Sync has been installed and configured on the host computer, please check with PSA Support BEFORE doing any of the following:  renaming, moving or replacing the QBD data file, changing QBD versions, or removing the host computer where the QBD Sync is located.  The QBD Sync is tied to a particular QBD company file, if creating a new one, you will need to notify PSA Support ahead of time so we can schedule a sync move and discuss the process.
